Image pops up uploaded by 'Friend'. He agrees with it. Link is below... but basically it just says that vegetarians that preach animals have feelings shouldn't then think it's okay to kill spiders...

RandomSpot: I dont count spiders or insects as animals.
‘Friend’: they are a living being in all respects (F of F likes this)
RandomSpot: so are carrots...
Friend of ‘Friend’: Then, define the difference between a rabbit and a carrot. Because the difference is the same.
RandomSpot: Mammals have personality drives. Insects and spiders (and carrots I guess) are only programmed for survival and instinct.
‘Friend’: even so they both breathe and are living things and have as much rights as each other (Friend of ‘Friend’ likes this)
RandomSpot: BUT A CARROT RESPIRES TOO!!! You've gotta draw the line somewhere…
Friend of ‘Friend’: A carrot doesn't respire. It photosynthesises. It works like a machine, it has automatic system. Insects respire.
RandomSpot: Dude... did you fail biology? Plants respire all the time, they photosynthesise during the day
‘Friend’: bad example , ok animals that a heart for arguements sake, now you're going to tell me a carrot has a heart
RandomSpot: No, because I know anatomy. But I'd argue a heart doesn't make something have feelings...
‘Friend’: true, a brain does
RandomSpot: Nope. Hormones do. Controlled by the brain. However a spider’s neurological centre is too small to produce feelings. It runs purely off instinct.
Friend of ‘Friend’: No, you're right, it doesn't. But your point was that you have to draw a line somewhere. An arachnid is far closer in anatomy to a mammal than it it to a vegetable. They both have hearts, as pointed out, which vegetables do not. So if you were to logically draw a line anywhere, it would be to separate arachnids from vegetables.
RandomSpot: No. Surely... if the statement is 'animals have feelings too' it would be best to draw the line at animals that don't have feelings... How the hell are we still talking about this?
Friend of ‘Friend’: However, a vegetable has no instinct. We're still talking about it because it's an open topic with no correct answer - it's subject to opinion.
RandomSpot: It does... otherwise how does it respire? Geotropism - a plants instinct to grow upward. Phototropism - a plants instinct to grow towards the light source. Plants have instincts. Just because something is immobile doesn't make it not alive. Otherwise you are being incredibly prejudice to disabled people...
Friend of ‘Friend’: There's a difference between (if we use people who have been born disabled as an example rather than those who have become disabled) a malfunction making you immobile despite that your species is supposed to be mobile, and being immobile like your species is supposed to be. This conversation implies no prejudice and you are, quite frankly, being ridiculous on that score. (‘Friend’ likes this)
RandomSpot: Yes... yes it was indeed intended as a joke, which you did indeed latch onto because you are clearly losing this debate.
Friend of ‘Friend’: Like I said, there is no win or lose. It's a matter of opinion. However, if you wish to claim it as a victory, feel free. It matters none to me.
(At this point I thought it was over… but no…)
‘Friend’: you know me and him aren't vegatarians, the reason why I posted this picture is because it annoys me when vegetarians want to stop killing of one animal but happy to kill another
RandomSpot: I know why you posted it. And it's stupid. Because a spider is different to an animal. which was what I was trying to say all along...
‘Friend’: well it's my opinion, you're more than welcome to say it's stupid but it doesn't mean you're right
RandomSpot: Sure, it's your opinion that it's hypocritical... I was merely stating the facts so you had a nice understanding about what you are forming an opinion about. Animals have feelings, as mentioned in the comic above. This is a fact. Spiders do not have feelings. They CAN feel pain, however, no-where have I suggested the torture of a spider. Neither is it suggested in the above comic. The death is suggested to be a quick squashing. Your opinion therefore that these people are hypocrits should perhaps be revised on this evidence unless there is sufficient evidence to suggest otherwise. Else it would appear to the humble observer that one is merely being stubborn.
I'll update this as the convo continues... but it's PISSIN ME OFF.
